León, Gto.
José Apaza translates in his artistic work the mysteries
and wealth of the common people. To come close to his work is to find
and dialogue with the soul of men and women, characters we meet on
the street and to whom we might not pay much attention. However, Apaza's
work invites us to come close, both physically and emotionally. His
arguments are charged with humanism, man is his central character.
In his drawings and paintings he captures and exalts the dignity of
the human being.
In his work any moment becomes immobile, he presents men in their
humble tasks, he comes close to them showing them in the performance
of their many trades, he takes as an excuse the simplest object and
redefines it aesthetically, domestic utensils, work tools; or the
most insignificant object becomes the principal theme of his work.
To come close to Apaza's artwork of small dimensions is to dialogue
with the soul of the portrait, it's an encounter with the profound
essence of the people.
In his intense work Apaza has succeeded in creating his own style,
a detailed realism identifies him, emphasizing the treatment of the
human figure with its expressive faces, that show always, in all their
detail, a facial verbalization.
